The End of Oak Street is so much more than your run-of-the mill classic crowd-pleasing sci-fi action horror movie about people fighting to survive attacks from killer dinosaurs in a suburban neighborhood. Set in 1981, parents Denise (Anne Hathaway) and Greg Platt (Ewan McGregor) experience a strange cosmic phenomenon, when power and water are cut and the edge of their street abruptly drops off into a dense prehistoric wilderness.

Family bonds and survival instincts are put to the test as they are terrorized by a nice variety of realistic looking dinosaurs. Viewers are treated to the usual suspects like a T-rex, velociraptors, and pterodactyls, but also some ancestral forms of modern species like alligators, tortoises, and snakes.

Film critics are agreeing that The End of Oak Street is an extremely entertaining popcorn movie that should be experienced with a packed theater, complete with jump scares, audience screams, and abundant opportunities to shout at the screen.

Despite haphazard explanations for the core weirdness, this remains a top-flight summer entertainment that knocks all the Jurassic World films into a cocked hat,” from the Irish Times review.
