New seats and ceiling restoration completed in the main theater. All four theaters have wheelchair accessible spaces and have been outfitted with assistive listening and closed captioning devices for use at no charge.
Hurricane Irene flooded downtown Brattleboro. The Latchis basement was inundated with six feet of water, and the building was closed for six weeks.
Latchis Memorial Building sold to Brattleboro Arts Initiative. In 2011, Brattleboro Arts Initiative changed its name to Latchis Arts.
NEYT was founded with their home base replacing the Jade-Wah Restaurant at the Latchis Memorial Building in what is now Theatre 4. In 2007 they moved to their current location on Flat Street.
Theater 3 – the Fountain Theater – was created by carving out space (the “crying room”) from the back of the main theater.
Upstairs Ballroom renovated to create Theater 2.
Ballroom leased to Sam Pilo (Actors Theater, Chesterfield NH) presenting live theater and art films. After two years the space reverted to a ballroom.
Trapp Family singers and Rudolf Serkin were among the many live performances at the Latchis Theater.

Movie stars including Dorothy Lamour –shown here arriving in Frankfurt after the war– came to the Latchis to sell war bonds.
